Maintain US Protection for Endangered Species
The Endangered Species Act is a necessary tool in ensuring that precious species remain on this Earth for the foreseeable future. Help stop a bill that would eliminate protections for species not native to the United States, which would hinder efforts to half illegal wildlife trafficking and threaten species including tigers, elephants and rhinos. Poaching and trading of these species supports criminal organizations removal of protections in the Endangered Species Act would empower these bad actors to continue to drive these animals toward extinction.
Help extend the program that has raised over $4.1 million to protect endangered species and encourage conservation. The “tiger stamp”, which supports important programs with every letter sent, is set to expire at the end of January 2018, unless Congress decides to extend it. Let Congress know you think they should let the Save Vanishing Species Semipostal Stamp continue helping conservation efforts.
Help get HR2749, the Save Our Seas Act, passed by contacting your congressman and telling them how important it is that we address the excessive amount of accumulated trash that is strangling our oceans. With more than 8 million metric tons of plastic dumped into the ocean every year, the time is now to put a stop to this, before our seas become overloaded with plastic.
There is currently a proposal to repeal the Clean Power Plan (CPP), which will significantly set back efforts to combat climate change. CPP set national standards to limit carbon pollution, and with the repeal of this important act, the United States will continue to be the world’s worst carbon polluter. Like EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt know that you think CPP is important to help halt the harmful effects of climate change.
