Safari Ltd® hosted its first Field Day event for Safarians, their friends and their families at Amelia Earhart Park in Hialeah, Florida on Saturday May 20th. The event was a rousing success, with over 100 people in attendance. Safarians and their partners, siblings, and children got to know each other better over catered food and treats provided by Proof Miami and Cold Stone Creamery, and sounds courtesy of DJ Super Dre.
Safarians were able to check out the unique attractions of the park, and many were particularly enamored with the petting zoo, where friendly goats and cows could be safely approached, handled and hand fed. As a company whose passion is animals, the petting zoo gave Safarians a chance to get up close and personal with some of the very same creatures represented in our Safari Farm collection!
A plethora of activities and stations were set up to entertain the children at the event, including bounce houses and an inflatable obstacle course. Games were organized, including flag football and volleyball. Races were held, of the three-legged and egg-and-spoon variety, and prizes were awarded to the winning kids. Tug-of-war and water balloon tosses rounded out the day's events. Everyone who attended the event got to take home a Safari Ltd® goodie bag packed with TOOB® and Good Luck Mini® figurines, as well as officially branded Safari Ltd® sunglasses and sunblock to help protect eyes and skin under the Florida sun.
The field day was organized by SafariFit, the in-house team dedicated to devising activities to keep Safarians fit and healthy. They have hosted health fairs and fitness activities previously, but this was their first field day event. A day of outdoor activities at a local park certainly fits the bill for healthy fun, so to the SafariFit crew we say: Mission Accomplished!
