BiOBUDDi is Made from Renewable, Sustainable Materials

BiOBUDDi toy sets are plant-based blocks. They are made of a plastic called “Green PE” which is derived from the sugarcane plant. This means, unlike traditional oil-based plastics which are made from non-renewable fossil fuels, BiOBUDDi are made from a renewable resource. Eventually, the oil used to create traditional plastics will be used up, but as long as we plant sugarcane, we will have the resources to make bio-based “Green PE”.

Reducing the CO2 Pollution with Eco-Friendly Building Blocks

How does BiOBUDDi help reduce CO2 pollution? The planting of sugarcane helps reduce carbon dioxide (CO2), a harmful greenhouse gas which gets released into the environment by humans, through the use of cars, planes, power plants, and other activities that burn fossil fuels. Sugarcane, like other plants, absorbs carbon dioxide through photosynthesis, and releases oxygen, with humans need to breathe.

BiOBUDDi’s raw materials are actually CO2 neutral, meaning that the CO2 released through production is offset by the planting of new sugarcane, which helps absorb the CO2. Five kilograms of CO2 is offset for every 1 kilogram of material produced, if the product is recycled. If it is not recycled, it is still carbon neutral, but through recycling it actually offsets more carbon dioxide than the process produces.

Their packaging features many elements that are meant to be incorporated into playtime! This means there’s less to be thrown away, and less waste going to landfills.
