Holiday DIY Ornaments

Decorating your Christmas tree is one of the most special activities of the holidays, especially when you can customize and personalize something so meaningful. Adding a bit of your own persona to home decor is an idea that’s taken off recently. We see it in interior and home design, holiday decor and even with gifts. Taking the extra TLC to do-it-yourself converts an ordinary experience or item, like an ornament, into something memorable. 

This holiday season, add this special DIY touch to your tree with our DIY Holiday Ornaments. In this simple project, we’ll outline how to convert Safari Ltd® figurines into hanging memories on your tree. This easy exercise is a great activity to do with your loved ones and family!

Things you’ll need:

Grizzly bear, Bobcat , and Platypus figurines. (You can choose from any Safari Ltd® collection. These toys are great because they’re good quality, but we do recommend choosing smaller figurines as the bigger ones are heavier may be more difficult to hang. In our case, we wanted to add a folksy element to our decor, so we went with Wild Safari North American Wildlife collection.)

• Ribbon
• Eye hook
• Scissors
• Spray paint - optional (You don’t need to buy spray paint. It all depends on your tree and taste. We wanted to add some sparkle, but if you want a more natural, folksy look Safari Ltd® figurines are hand-painted and will look beautiful as is.) 

1. Step 1 If you’re spray painting your ornaments, this is the first step. Allow a day or two to dry!
2. Step 2 Place your eye hook in the center of your figurine and cut a small piece of ribbon to slip through.
3. Step 3 Hang your finished ornament on your tree and enjoy! For added decoration, your ornament can also be hung on the wall with a thumbtack.
