Safari Ltd has a truly overwhelming release for 2006. Ramona Pariente has
put her strong personal stamp on Safari Ltd since taking leadership. The
Safari Ltd booth at this year's Toy Fair in New York was all feathers, fangs
and fur.
The Wild Safari mammals have evolved to include Arsinotherium, Andrewsarchus,
Doedicurus and Ambelodon. There was also a Prehistoric Life Toob with
Arsinotherium, Andrewsarchus, Doedicurus, Smilodon, Megatherium, Woolly
Mammoth, a family of cave people with a campfire and a tree.
There are two new Wild Safari dinosaurs, Suchomimus and an adolescent
feathered Tyrannosaurus. The Great Dinosaur collection has been repainted
and a feathered Therizinosaurus and Spinosaurus are being released.
The old Habitat series has been repackaged as the Mini Carnegie collection.
The jewel was the four new figures for the Carnegie Museum series -- Dilong,
Caudipteryx, Microraptor and Beipiaosaurus. Being jaded, I never expected
the figures to be anything as attractive as the pictures. I was wrong; they
were every bit as good as their pictures. See more at
